It has not been done before. The rule corpus is fragmented across thousands of regulatory and contractual documents. The intersection of expertise required — operational healthcare billing, federal regulatory law, software engineering at scale, financial systems design — is small. The implications of getting it right are large.
We are building the computational pricing layer for a $5.6 trillion sector that has been operating on approximations of a quantity that has an exact answer. The work is intellectually demanding, operationally specific, and high-leverage. It is also genuinely fun if you are the kind of person who finds working through incredibly difficult problems enjoyable rather than frustrating.

We do not hire by job description. We hire by intellectual posture. The kind of person who works well at Crescent is curious across domains they were not trained in, comfortable being wrong in public, allergic to credentialism, and obsessive about getting the small details right because the small details are usually where the answer is.
Most of our work sits at the intersection of engineering and financial systems. If you are exceptional at one of those and genuinely curious about the other, we want to talk. We do not care where you went to school, what your title is, or how many years of experience you have. We care whether you can think rigorously about a hard problem and ship working software against it.
The team is small. There is no onboarding program. There is no structured ladder. Everyone works on the things that matter most this week. That is the trade-off we offer: autonomy and consequence in exchange for ambiguity and pace.
